T-Mobile announced yesterday the prices and availability of two Android superphones that many folks have been looking forward to: the HTC Amaze 4G (formerly known as the HTC Ruby) and the Samsung Galaxy S II (which was codenamed the Samsung Hercules).
Both devices will be available for preorder on T-Mobile’s online store (www.T-Mobile.com) starting on October 10. Units will become available in T-Mobile retail stores and partner establishments starting on October 12.
The HTC Amaze 4G costs US$260 with 2-year contract and after US$50 rebate. The Samsung Galaxy S II, on the other hand, costs US$230 under the same terms.

The HTC Amaze 4G boasts of the following specs:
  • 1.5-GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor
  • Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread with HTC Sense
  • 4.3-inch qHD touchscreen display
  • 8-megapixel primary camera (1080p HD video capture)
  • Physical camera shutter button
  • Near Field Communication (NFC)

Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy S II variant for T-Mobile comes with a bigger screen than the global version of the Galaxy S II. T-Mobile’s variant has a 4.52-inch touchscreen, which, in fact, makes it the smartphone with the largest screen on T-Mobile. Just like the other Galaxy S II variants, T-Mobile’s variant has Super AMOLED Plus technology for vivid and crisp display. T-Mobile’s Samsung Galaxy S II variant boasts of the
following specs:
  • 1.5-GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor
  • Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread
  • 4.52-inch Super AMOLED Plus touchscreen
  • Near Field Communication
  • DLNA support
  • HDMI support
Looks like T-Mobile has two more Android superphones with magnetic appeal trying to attract you for the holidays.
